Resources

Our project is invested in a network of institutional and community resources; we have particularly benefited from the research support of archivists and librarians at the University of Toronto Scarborough Archives, the University of Toronto Scarborough Digital Scholarship Unit, UTARMS, and the University of Toronto libraries. Below are a variety of resources related to campus initiatives, exhibits, and departments, archival research, and oral history methodology. If you are interested in the work we do, we encourage you to explore these resources.

Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling

From their website: The Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling was founded in 2006 by the then Canada Research Chair in Oral History, Dr Steven High, with funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation and Concordia University. COHDS moved into permanent facilities on Concordia’s downtown Montreal campus in 2007. Our central mission is to support the gathering and preservation of the audiovisual oral history record, while encouraging solo, collaborative, and community-based research and creation that respond to living memory and oral testimony. Ethics and shared authority are at the core of our values as a university research centre.

The COHDS website provides many resources helpful to those interested in exploring the method and practice of oral history research.
