Audrey Glasbergen, a Scarborough local who has worked in administration at UTSC for several years, here recalls the various extracurricular activities available on campus for students, staff, and faculty in the university’s early years.

[Audrey:] They used to have Winterfest here. In between the S and the H they flooded the,

in between there, you could go skating. That’s when it was smaller, right? They had a couple, before the S-wing field, a few summers they had film at night, before the portables arrived.

Is it still running? [Laughter] Some films at night, so you bring your popcorn, watch a film that night.

but then we lost the S-wing because we needed… [Uthish:] The S-wing field has become? [Audrey:] Portables.

We used to play baseball out there, the faculty, staff. We used to play organized baseball out there. Can’t.

See that was the smaller part of it, that you could organize these things because everybody knew somebody and a place to do it.
