In this interview, Mike Plumton, who worked at UTSC as a Training and Programming Coordinator in the UTSC Department of Student Housing & Residence Life, describes the different programs he oversees that support UTSC students. He reflects on his perceptions of the overall safety of Scarborough and UTSC, especially in regards to media and its portrayal of the city. He touches on how different forms of diversity have affected feelings of safety and security iin residence or on campus. He also discusses issues surrounding gender and diversity on the campus and the steps that the University has taken towards being more inclusive.
